The Haut Bailly 1995 ha s medium to deep ruby-red in color. Restrained, slightly leafy red-fruit aromas are framed by cedary oak notes. Rich dark red-plum fruit on the palate is supported by a mid-weight structure of fine, firm tannins. The wine’s freshness leaves the tannins quite angular on the finish. Alcohol is balanced & length is pretty good.
The 1995 Haut-Bailly is quite deep in colour. It has a gorgeous bouquet with blackberry, incense and touches of melted dark chocolate. Hints of menthol develop with aeration. The palate is very well defined with ample weight and tobacco-infused black fruit. Firmer towards the end with a touch of meat juices on the finish. It is a bit broad-shouldered but an utterly delicious Haut-Bailly that is à point.
