Pape Clement 1959

The 1959 Pape Clément is a magnificent example of a fully mature Graves. It opens with an expressive bouquet of dried tobacco, cedar chest, forest floor and black truffle, intertwined with hints of leather and warm gravel. There is still a core of dark fruit, now evolved into fig and prune, that lends surprising depth.

On the palate, it is medium-bodied, beautifully resolved and harmoniously structured. The tannins have melted into the fabric of the wine, giving it a velvety, almost Burgundian texture. Acidity remains fresh enough to carry the flavors դեպի a long, savory finish laced with earthy and smoky nuances typical of the estate.
