Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux 1990

The very good weather conditions of 1990 enabled practically all of the plots, young as well as old, to reach an excellent level of ripeness. Nevertheless, the outstanding quality reached by some of them pushed us to make a particularly strict selection for the first wine; this also of course contributed to the fine quality of the Pavillon Rouge, for which many very good wines were available for making the blend. The 1990 Pavillon Rouge is delicious now that it is probably a shame not to enjoy it now; it is particularly fine, subtle and charming. It actually closely resembles the Grand Vin in this vintage with having, obviously, the same power or aging capacity.
