The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes Great Cru boasts a subtle bouquet with superb scents of raspberry, pomegranate, and crushed strawberry tinged with cold stones, maybe more nuanced than Roty’s two other grand crus. With a tang of marmalade, sour cherry, and a saline finish, the palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, very focused and lively. A subtle gamey note underpins this, which may become more evident as the wine ages. Very good.
